سياسة تضارب المصالح
1. Purpose
This Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy establishes clear principles to safeguard the integrity, transparency, and objectivity of Qurina Scientific Journal’s editorial and publication processes. All parties involved—authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher—are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could inappropriately influence judgment or decision-making.
2. Definition of Conflict of Interest
2.1 A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning the validity, interpretation, or objectivity of a scholarly work may be influenced, or be perceived to be influenced, by personal, financial, institutional, or other relationships.
2.2 Conflicts may be:
§ Financial: employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, or grants.
§ Academic/Professional: prior or ongoing collaboration, competition, or disputes with the author(s).
§ Personal: family relationships, close friendships, or adversarial relationships.
3. Responsibilities of Authors
3.1 Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest at the time of manuscript submission.
3.2 Such disclosures must include financial support for the work, affiliations, or any other circumstances that could be perceived to bias the results or their interpretation.
3.3 Failure to disclose conflicts may result in rejection of the manuscript or retraction of a published article.
4. Responsibilities of Reviewers
4.1 Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest prior to accepting an invitation to review.
4.2 If a conflict exists—such as recent collaboration with the author(s), institutional affiliation, financial interest, or personal relationship—the reviewer must decline the assignment.
4.3 Reviewers shall not use knowledge of the manuscript for personal advantage.
5. Responsibilities of Editors
5.1 Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest (e.g., authorship, institutional ties, or personal relationships with the author(s)).
5.2 Editorial decisions shall not be influenced by financial, political, or personal considerations.
5.3 Where conflicts exist, manuscripts shall be reassigned to another qualified editor.
6. Publisher’s Role
The Publisher shall support the enforcement of this Policy, maintain transparent records of disclosures, and, where necessary, publish statements of conflict of interest with accepted manuscripts.
7. Enforcement and Sanctions
Failure to comply with this Policy may result in rejection or withdrawal of the manuscript, retraction of a published article, removal of reviewers from the reviewer pool, or other actions deemed appropriate by the Editorial Board.
